The Student Disability Resource Center is committed to advancing academic support in a myriad of ways, including:

• The WISE Program- Wisdom and Innovation Supporting Every OWL.

WISE is an initiative designed to help students with diagnosed or undiagnosed learning differences, as well as students who identify as neurodiverse, thrive academically, socially, and personally.

WISE Supports Students Through:

• Executive Function Skill Development — Building strategies for organization, time management, planning, prioritization, task initiation, and other skills that support academic success.
  

• Community & Social Development — Creating opportunities for students to develop personal organization, social connections, self-advocacy, and a sense of belonging.
  

• Individualized Support — Providing strength-based guidance tailored to each student's unique learning profile, goals, and experiences.
  

• Accommodation Guidance — Offering guidance on academic accommodations following initial approval through the SDRC process.

Supporting the Rice University Community

We advise Rice University regarding the implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, assist in plan development for the provision of accommodations for students, and collaborate with various offices across campus to ensure accommodations are being met appropriately.
